Non College Preparatory Art StudiesValley Art Institute will accept those students who wish to pursue a serious study of fine art without an art college objective. These students may participate in any of the classes offered although some pre-requisites may be necessary. Our curriculum consists of both a technical and expressive understanding of a range of media focusing on drawing, painting, life drawing and sculpture. All student work is critiqued and evaluated by both instructors and outside observers on a regular basis in order to ensure progress and the goal of completing a competent portfolio for art college admission. Progress reports are periodically sent out so that parents are aware of the students’ development. History of Valley Art InstituteValley Art Institute was founded in January 1997 for the purpose of providing both young and old artists with an atmosphere of learning and creativity. The Valley Art Institute philosophy is to provide an artistic atmosphere in which the student is schooled in the foundation principles of Fine Art. Our curriculum is designed for those students who wish to attend one of the major art colleges throughout the country as well as those students who may wish to pursue art for their own pleasure. We realize there are limited resources available in both the local public and private schools in the area. The goal of VAI is to provide the finest preparatory art instruction as a necessary tool for advancement to the higher levels of art education and professional careers. The instructors at VAI are all professionals in their respective fields and devoted to teaching and inspiring artists of all ages. Valley Art Institute is a school of Fine Art. For the purpose of college admission our students focus primarily on foundation work in the visual arts. It is our experience, working closely with the major art colleges around the country, that this focus is the most successful way of gaining admission to the students’ preferred college.
